# Bold and Italics

> Use bold and italics to enhance content clarity and improve user comprehension.

### Bold

Use bold text to highlight key actions and important terms.

**Do**

* Use bold for key actions or commands in instructions
* Use bold to highlight important terms or phrases that need emphasis (e.g., "Ensure you understand the **Terms and Conditions**").

**Don't**

* Avoid using bold excessively, as it can overwhelm the user and reduce its impact.
* Don’t use bold for entire sentences or large blocks of text.

### Italics

Use italics for subtle emphasis, titles, and specific terms.

**Do**

* Use italics to emphasize a word or phrase within a sentence for subtle emphasis
* Use italics for titles of works (e.g., "Refer to the *ServiceTitan User Guide* for more details").
* Use italics to highlight specific terms or jargon when they are first introduced (e.g., "The new *Weekly Dispatch Board* provides...").

**Don't**

* Avoid using italics for entire paragraphs or large blocks of text, as it can be hard to read.
* Don’t use italics and bold together on the same word or phrase unless absolutely necessary for clarity.
* Avoid using italics for regular emphasis if bold would be more appropriate for drawing attention.
