We planned to deliver additional Data Table enhancements and new Form Field components this quarter. Due to a reduction in team capacity, we deferred both areas to focus on in-flight work and maintain quality across what we ship.
This is not a cancellation of the work. Data Table design requirements are mostly complete and can be picked up as contributions. Form Field design work is still in progress. The work remains on our roadmap.

What was deferred

Data Table enhancements

The following planned beta improvements are deferred to a future quarter:
  • Truncation formatting
  • Surface resizing and drag and drop
  • Row actions
  • Disable Select All button
  • Hide expand/collapse all rows button
  • Hover background on rows
  • Option to have rows render “selected” visual
  • Pinned/favorited rows
  • Group by / column grouping (stretch goal)
The current DataTable beta remains available. We will continue fixing bugs and responding to feedback on the existing API. Several of the deferred enhancements already have complete designs and are ready for engineering pickup. See Ready for contribution for Figma specs and pattern guidance.

New Form Field components

Release of Currency, Address, Phone, and File form field components is deferred. Design requirements for these components are less complete than Data Table. We are continuing design work on File this quarter, but may not get to Currency, Address, or Phone.

When scope and priorities are settled, we will update the roadmap and share timing in #ask-designsystem.

Data Table designs are ready for engineering work on several items. Form Field contributions are welcome, but check in with us first — design requirements are still being finalized for most of those components. The following Data Table enhancements have complete designs in Figma and are ready for engineering pickup: Other deferred Data Table items — including truncation formatting, surface resizing and drag and drop, Select All / expand controls, and group by — do not have designs ready yet.
